It's No News

that our country blows too much money
usually money we don't have.
Often that money goes towards ads.

The New York Times said,
"Interest groups of both sides
of the [health care] debate have
spent more than $57 million on
television advertisements in
six months."

Now all I want to ask is
what if
instead of spending that money
on biased TV spots,
they spent it
investing in real journalism?
Newspapers, radio and broadcasts
that could serve the
American public
with real research and data, with
uninvolved opinions.

I am like everyone, tired with the
political banter and twisted words,
unreliable resources.

So why don't we demand better,
and stop bleeding green while we're at it?

Thoughts on the way home

I see the little man hobble down the stairs
and again it strikes
the question, "How long will I be so able?"

May I never take my health
or mobility for granted.

Living in the city among
people in each degree of life
reminds me daily
of the blessing it is to just walk.

I get confused a little when
the depth of stairs are inconsistent,
and I am prone to clumsiness.

But I love these legs, they
take me everywhere and walk
miles in everyday life.

Sometimes I feel that blessing
is a ticking clock.

Earth

Earth is the closest thing to heaven a non-Christian will see.
Earth is the closest thing to hell a Christian will see.

LORD, Who may dwell

... in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?

He who walks blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things
will never be shaken.

Close to Creation

The other day I
imagined maybe
the reason love
is so sweet
is because it
brings us closer
to creation.
I believe all
things were made
by a Great Artist.
He made my
love, He made
him well.
My love was
created and is
a galaxy of art
in himself.
Being in love
brings me
closer to creation.
