Pre-Thanksgivinging

I love family. I love vacation. I love coming home to the country.
On our first day in Iowa with Jake's family, we visited his great grandfather's home which Jake's family recently re-acquired. The home and land are so full of memories. It's really neat to have so much family history in such a concentrated area.

Then we went grocery shopping as a whole family for our Thanksgiving ingredients. I made homemade macaroni and cheese, some pie crusts, and a chocolate-pear tart all for my contribution.

We got a really nice Christmas tree, too.


And the morning of Thanksgiving we woke up at 6:30 (yes) to run the Turkey Trot! It was a really good way to work up an appetite.
